Some more pics...

I’m glad to see that the children have now fully recovered from their time in Lochgoilhead after a very slow start to the week!

The children were given the chance to see the blog in class this week and apparently I didn’t do a good enough job with the pictures that I put up so they’ve requested more! I apologise if there’s any that I put on twice.  Hopefully I will be back in the good books after this!

I have also added some pictures from our group of children who stayed in school last week.  They did a great job when working with the younger children, helping out with the sponsored event last Thursday, building igloos in the snow and building dens. They finished off their week with a duvet and movie day!

Last day

Final few pictures of our last morning in Lochgoilhead.

I’m quite sure you will have some very tired children at home tonight.  They have had so many fantastic experiences over the last few days and I’m sure they will will have lots of stories to share with you tonight.

The children have grown in confidence, developed many new skills, built new friendships and laughed loads since Wednesday and we are extremely proud of each and every one of them.  They all worked together, supported one another, displayed excellent manners and were a real credit to our school.  I enjoyed every minute of my time with them and it was a positive experience for us all.

Thank you to the parents for giving them the opportunity to go. You should be very proud of them all!

Good luck with all the washing this weekend! We hope they all get a good sleep tonight.

Day 2

Happy birthday Alistair! Lovely start to our second day!

After a gruelling nightline last night and a fairly good night sleep (for some of us!) we enjoyed a nice fry up before heading off to our morning activities...raft building and Jacobs ladder.

Raft building helped to develop our problem solving and team building skills and also tested our patience! After successfully building our rafts, we got the wet suits on and took them out into the loch to see how good they really were! Very proud of the children for managing to cope while standing in and falling into extremely cold water.

Some children faced challenges on Jacobs ladder and the children were given the chance to put trust in their friends. Whilst climbing the ladder, the control of their harnesses was in the hands of their buddies. A real test of trust and friendship!

After lunch and birthday cake,  we enjoyed more activities - Jacobs ladder for group 1 and rock climbing for group 2. The children pushed themselves to their limits and achieved the personal targets that they had set for themselves. Very proud of the work they have done today!

Robot wars was our activity tonight. More team building and bossing around!

Off to bed now, after a tiring day! Lights out at 10pm and all sleeping by 10.01 I’m sure!
